STATE OF CONNECTICUT vs. APPOLLONIO VITTORIO (aka PAUL VITTORIO).

Video Shows Neglected Horse, 3 Euthanized

Connecticut boarding stable owner Paul Vittorio is facing multiple counts of animal cruelty. We have just learned three horses seized from his property have been euthanized.

A video taken prior to the seizure from Vittorio’s Pee Wee Horse Farm has surfaced online. The video dated October 2011 shows a horse named Blackie barely able to walk foraging for something to eat.

Blackie is believed to be one of five horses seized from the stable in December.

“He continues to improve,” according to Ray Connors, supervisor for Connecticut’s Animal Control Division. “The abscesses in his front feet have cleared and he continues to put weight on.”

Pee Wee Horse Farm advertises online as “the best of the west, here at home” and offers boarding, lessons, and trail rides. Connors says the farm has thirty boarders utilizing the stable’s services and almost one hundred horses on the property. The horses seized were owned by Vittorio.

Vittorio faces six counts of animal cruelty. He will be back in court on March 6.
