The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office states 72-year-old Kenneth Emery, of Troy, recorded video of a teenage horseback riding student undressing, leading to his October 5 arrest.

The girl was changing in the tack room before her lesson at a Silex farm on Ives Hall Lane. That’s when she noticed a red light flashing from a small camera sitting on a table. The victim ran and got her father, but when they returned to the tack room, the camera was gone.

Authorities obtained a warrant to search Emery’s home.

The St. Charles County Cyber Crimes Unit discovered a video of the teen changing her clothes. Emery allegedly recorded the video from a hole on the outside of the barn.

An official from the sheriff’s office says about 130 videos were deleted from a GoPro account on Emery’s phone prior to its seizure. Emery refused to speak with investigators.

Emery has a record, according to court documents. He pleaded guilty to trespassing in the 2nd degree in 1998 resulting in a fine.

His cash-only bond is set at $25,000.

The investigation is on-going. If convicted, Emery faces up to four years in jail.
