Michigan Equine Veterinarian Charged with Felony Forgery

A Michigan veterinarian is facing four felony counts for allegedly forging documents after her horse died.

Julie Rossetto, DVM is charged with two counts each of forgery and uttering and publishing, according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors allege Rossetto, of Fenton, created a fake Bill of Sale for her reining horse named CF Free Agent in the amount of $35,000. The horse’s previous owner allegedly told authorities the horse sold for $25,000 and a Bill of Sale was not provided to Rossetto.

Rossetto is also accused of falsifying an insurance claim. The criminal complaint states she sent a “false letter of insurance coverage for the horse … dated May 7, 2013 certifying coverage/payout of $9,300.21.”
Rossetto is scheduled to be in court for a hearing on January 24. Stay with Rate My Horse PRO as we follow this case.
