COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA v ROBERT S BIELEFELD.

Judge Finds Bielefeld Guilty of Attempted Sexual Battery, Misdemeanor Assault

A case of forcible fondling ends with a guilty verdict for USEF ‘R’ Hunter judge Rob Bielefeld.
Judge Gordon Saunders found Bielefeld guilty of attempted sexual battery and misdemeanor assault in Lexington/Rockbridge
General District Court on Tuesday. A third charge of indecent exposure was dismissed.
The Wellington, Florida horse trainer was arrested by Virginia authorities in late April. After calling a hotel clerk to his room a second time, the criminal complaint states Bielefeld, only wearing underwear, began touching the employee and pushed him on the bed. The victim told authorities Bielefeld was pleasuring himself and said “they could just fool around” despite the victim’s protests.
When deputies arrived, Bielefeld said “he did not know what was going on and that he thinks that it was a big misunderstanding,” according to the report.
Bielefeld was in Lexington at the time to judge a horse show, but his services were not utilized after his arrest.
Bielefeld was sentenced to a six-month jail sentence suspended and 12 months of probation.
