Three Horses Loaded
An accident caused a Brook Ledge horse trailer to overturn Thursday in Kentucky.
Lexington firefighters cut the trailer before three horses, including a foal, walked out on their own. Another Brook Ledge horse trailer took the horses to a local equine hospital.
Police say a car exiting I-75 attempted to turn north but cut off the horse trailer before colliding with it.
The driver of the horse trailer suffered minor injuries. His dog was reportedly uninjured.
The car’s driver was not injured.
Tip: In dry conditions, a large horse rig going 55 mph takes at least 100 yards to stop.
A vehicle takes about 60 yards to stop going the same speed.
