Georgia Dressage Trainer Waives Jury Trial

Kenn Acebal is back behind bars in the Catoosa County Jail after his bond was revoked in mid-November. The judge in his case signed the motion after he violated his bond in June when he allegedly was found in possession of meth and was in a lewd state of partial nudity according to court documents.
A date for the bench trial in the child sex sting case has not been scheduled according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The horse trainer charged in connection with an FBI child sex sting waived his right to a jury trial today. Kenn Acebal will now face a judge in a bench trial.

FBI officials say Acebal allegedly attempted to meet with what he thought was a boy for sex in April. He was arrested in Ringgold, Georgia and charged with three counts of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, three counts of criminal attempt to commit child molestation, and three counts of child computer pornography.

Rate My Horse PRO contacted Sam Sanders, Acebal’s defense attorney in the case, however, our call was not returned.

Acebal’s bench trial has not been scheduled.

Acebal could also face charges stemming from a June arrest. Deputies report he was driving naked; a small bag of meth and a pipe were allegedly found when his vehicle was searched. Acebal is waiting to go before the Grand Jury to see if charges will be filed in the case.
