Frog Pond Farm specialized in the rescue of draft horses.
The founder of an Ohio horse rescue accused of misappropriating funds has accepted a settlement from the state’s attorney general. Lisa Gordon must pay $20,000 and dissolve Frog Pond Farm Draft Horse Rescue.
The $20,000 is to be paid over five years to the state and will be distributed to other charities by the attorney general’s office. Gordon has also agreed to distribute any of Frog Pond Farm’s assets to a charitable organization with a similar purpose.
Gordon is prohibited from soliciting donations in any capacity or holding a position with a charity.
The suit filed by Attorney General Mike DeWine in early 2014, alleged Gordon misappropriated almost $50,000 from 2011 through 2013. The lawsuit is closed with prejudice, due to the settlement.
