Frog Pond Farm Horse Rescue Settles Misappropriation Suit for $20K

The founder of an Ohio horse rescue accused of misappropriating funds has accepted a settlement from the state’s attorney general. Lisa Gordon must pay $20,000 and dissolve Frog Pond Farm Draft Horse Rescue.
The $20,000 is to be paid over five-years to the state and will be distributed to other charities by the attorney general’s office. Gordon has also agreed to distribute any of Frog Pond Farm’s assets to a charitable organization with a similar purpose.
Gordon is prohibited from soliciting donations in any capacity or holding a position with a charity.
The suit filed by Attorney General Mike DeWine in early 2014, alleged Gordon misappropriated almost $50,000 from 2011 through 2013. The lawsuit is closed with prejudice, due to the settlement.
