Grooms walk horses to their stalls in Miami.
The world’s best show jumpers have landed in destination style at Miami Beach after flying first class from Europe. They are preparing to compete in the Longines Global Champions Tour seaside, which boasts spectacular ocean views like no other venue.
Two chartered flights carried 75 horses from Belgium to Miami International Airport safely. Grooms travel with the ‘rock stars’ of show jumping to cater to their every need during the flight to ensure their comfort.
Once in Miami, police escorted the horse vans to the equestrian venue. The horses entered U.S. quarantine and stretched their legs beach side.
More than 240 horses are scheduled to compete when the action gets jumping on Thursday, April 7.
Included in the line up are last year’s LGCT of Miami Beach Grand Prix winner Scott Brash (GBR) and the highest ranked US riders Kent Farrington, McLain Ward and Beezie Madden.
LGCT announced a new team format that will pair riders from different countries as they compete to win a share of €7.5 million in prize money.
