Drone with Infrared Technology Brings Missing Colorado Horse Home

The desperate search for a 30-year-old horse that began on Thursday came to a happy conclusion Sunday morning. The gelding named Houdini was found with the help of a high tech gadget in the sky.
A drone with infrared technology provided by Multicopter Warehouse spotted the gelding that went missing near Castle Rock. “We are so glad we were able to make this search a success,” the company said on it’s Facebook page.
Houdini, cut and sore, was reportedly buried in scrub oak and fence. A veterinarian tended to the bay who was still in good body condition after three days on his own. He is now resting comfortably, according to his owner Kari Edge.

Houdini is a special member of Edge’s family. The horse visits patients at a nursing home and safely teaches the youngest riders the ropes of riding.
Edge said the gelding escaped through a latched, but unlocked gate on the ranch. Houdini’s escape route has since been fixed, so he’ll have to settle for the views from home with a stay-cation.
