Texas Cutting Loper
A Texas assistant cutting horse trainer allegedly stole more than $500,000 from a horse owner. A Cooke County Grand Jury indicted Dakota Lindsey Harrell last week on a charge of felony theft.
Harrell allegedly stole the funds from Miller Wade Smith. The Oklahoma resident and Non-Pro competitor had horses in training at Merritt Wilson Cutting Horses.
Harrell worked as an assistant horse trainer at Merritt Wilson’s Whitesboro cutting operation. The indictment states the theft occurred from October 1, 2013, to October 1, 2015.
Harrell’s bond was set at $50,000. The investigation is on-going.
We tried to reach cutting horse trainer Wilson to see if Harrell is still working at his farm, but he did not return our call prior to publishing.
