Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Walter Sasse

Cop Turned Barn Manager Charged with Child Sex Abuse

A retired police officer in Pennsylvania is on the wrong side of the law after being accused of sexually abusing a teen at the barn he managed.

Walter Sasse, a former mounted patrol officer, was arrested and faces nine charges including unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, corruption of minors and aggravated indecent assault.

The victim rode horses at Courtesy Stables, where Sasse worked in Andorra. Police say the 20-year veteran of the Philadelphia police force had a sexual relationship with the then 15-year old girl. The alleged abuse lasted more than two years.

Courtesy Stables is a non-profit organization. The farm offers horse boarding and riding lessons, both of which Sasse managed, according to a cached copy of the website.

Sasse posted $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25.
