Billy Hamilton Held on $10K Bond

William “Billy” Hamilton

The man called a ‘person of interest’ by authorities in the Arkansas rodeo horse theft and killing will remain behind bars. A judge ordered William “Billy” Hamilton held on $10,000 cash bond today in connection with another case.

Hamilton was arraigned on charges of theft of property and criminal contempt stemming from the alleged theft of cattle. He was arrested last week on a 2009 bench warrant that was issued after he reportedly failed to pay more than $6,500 in restitution.

Hamilton is also wanted in Howard County and will be in court on Wednesday for non-payment of child support. According to court documents, he has not paid the ordered $81 a week since April 2, 2009, when he last bonded out of jail.

Hamilton has been interviewed by investigators working the Southern Arkansas University horse theft case. Charges have not been filed in connection with the case. Hamilton will remain behind bars unless he can post the $10,000 cash bond to facilitate his release.

Hamilton will be back in front of a Pike County judge on June 11.
