Ten horses died in a California stable fire that is being called suspicious, according to the fire chief.
It happened early Sunday morning at C&K Horse Ranch in Montebello. Flames and smoke billowed in the air as music surrounded the area from local festivities. Workers were able to save 22 horses.
It took 80 firefighters about two hours to fight the blaze, Montebello Fire Department Battalion Chief Richard Fredrickson said.
The stable offers horseback riding and horse boarding services.
No people were injured in the blaze.
